My Story

My Giving Tree Gift Shop & Art Gallery opened up in 2011; its name was inspired by the owner's children's and grandchildren's favorite book, "The Giving Tree." This beautiful shop is located in Downtown Belton, at 121 N. East Street.

Since opening, My Giving Tree has transformed into a "Truly Unique" and "One-of-a-Kind" gift shop & art gallery. Owner Leila Valchar has worked diligently with many of Belton's local merchants to create more awareness about our charming city of Belton. She believes it is important to shop local, buy "American Made" products whenever possible, and support our community by giving back. My Giving Tree truly believes in giving and loves to give gifts to her customers when they make a purchase. Leila also regularly gives and volunteers her time and passion to serve several charities. She is the founder of the downtown Belton Business Alliance a non-profit organization that organizes and hosts event downtown. She is grateful for being blessed with My Giving Tree, the support from her husband Rick, her daughters, and all the wonderful people she has had the opportunity to meet and work with.
